Proposal TAB in Vision CRM

Hi - has anyone used the Poposal tab in CRM which seems to capture basic RFP information such as date RFP was advertised, award date, etc. I'm looking for best practices and/or advise in how to best start using this tab for capturing information. Also, what are the gotchas?

(Sorry, I didn't see this until today.)

We use the Proposals tab to track the individual production efforts related to pursuing an Opportunity. For a given opp, we might submit a letter of interest, followed by a statement of qualifications and/or a cost proposal, then a presentation, etc. Each of these would likely have a different due date and person assigned to prepare it. The fields on the dialog box are somewhat customizable, so we modified them to reflect our terms for the kinds of things that might be needed, the stages, etc. In addition, though we don't do it this way, you can link custom proposals from the Proposals module back to the Opportunity (and vice versa).

Gotchas tend to crop up with On/Call and IDIQ contracts, depending how you enter and track them; we haven't solved this for ourselves yet, so I'm not much help there. Also, reporting can be challenging once you get more than one item on the grid, if you're not careful to use the fields and corresponding search parameters correctly to limit your results.
