Version 6 Standard Reports

Postby hokiekeen » Tue Mar 03, 2009 9:14 am

Is there a list of the standard reports that will be available with the upcoming new version? Our firm has held off on any custom reports, because of the upcoming change. One of the biggest needs is the ability to roll up labor to the Labor Category level in planning reports. Currently, it's the employee level or the project level and nothing in between. This makes it impossible to measure performance of a discipline against their baseline hours without a labor intensive analysis.

Suggestions about where to look would be greatly appreciated!

You can get planned hours by labor category using the "Labor Resource Forecast" report
Just select Columns "Labor Category" and "Weekley Planned Hours" if its a weekly forecast
by labor Category you want. I use the Project Progress report to compare baseline to planned
but that is only going to help with project, phase, and labor code levels and unless you match
labor codes to labor categories you will have trouble comparing labor category values.

Thanks. We discovered after our migration to Vision why Labor Codes exist. We thought that Labor Codes and Labor Categories were two ways of accomplishing the same thing and eventually found out (on our own) that they are not. We added Labor Codes several months ago and all is good - for the data that's new. The older stuff is still not very helpful. We either get the 50,000 ft view at the phase or the 5 foot view at the employee.

We're also in testing with 6.1 and have found that the reports are the same, but several (like the EV report) got worse.
