Custom Report Not Generating

Postby visionpuser » Mon Apr 01, 2013 3:10 pm

Vision 6.2 - Custom Report not Generatling

Issue:
Have a custom report that will run sometimes and sometimes it won't.

Temporary solution:
Manually running the SQL Maintenance plan on the Vision Database server will resolve the issue.

Even when the Maintenance plan runs successfully the night before, the custom report will not generate until it is ran manually. This issue doesn't happen all the time. It is random, but is an issue. The Maintenance plans are set to run automatically on the Vision Database server nightly.

There are currently no errors reported in Windows Event Viewer or the Task Scheduler history.

The Vision Database server is running on Windows Server 2008 Standard Service Pack 2 along with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Express.

Any suggests or help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I'd check the following:
- has the report been updated to the newest SQL format? (Check version under Report Administration.)
- is the report saved to the correct path on the server?
- are all the related files, if any, (i.e. financial analysis) also loaded and up to date?

Sorry for the very late update.

Changing the Maintenance plan to run from SQL Server Management Studio, instead of Scheduled Tasks, resolved the issue.

Thanks for the suggestions.
